The thing I've noticed about Mahomes this year is the lack of urgency or concern until he needs to be urgent/concerned (game-winning drive). If it's 3rd and 6 in the 2nd quarter, he's not going to try to force something at that point and risk an INT or an injury in a scramble. If the play isn't there, he'll let the punter come out, walk to the sideline, and start studying for the next drive. If the same play developed on 3rd and 6 with 2 minutes to go, you can bet your ass that he's going to do everything he can to pick up those yards.
