A good example would be if we didn’t have Butker and our kicker situation was sketchy at best, so they bring in a kicker who they never use for XPs or FGs. Instead they have Justin Reid doing it because he’s serviceable doing it.

Change that story to... You sign buttkicker on IR and because matt amendola is such a disaster you rush him a few weeks early. He gets hurt and doesn't kick well and his next availability is the 2nd game in a 3 game/11 day stretch. Then you can finally start him in the final week with a backup long snapper and backup protection that get their shit pushed in
Now it's the playoffs and you have Matthew wright who has been adequate enough. Now also imagine it's a position that requires a good amount of chemistry, timing and recovery. We don't really know what we have. It's possible he's just terrible. It's also possible the timing never worked out with getting him recovery and live reps and Reid is gunshy to experiment on the biggest of stages. Again I do think that formula changes given that thuney may have regressed to the mean and that buffalos strength is in the interior.
