There are probably millions of Swifties who have no idea who Derrick Thomas is. I still accept their fandom. Anybody who doesn't know who Derrick Thomas is probably just either wasn't alive, was too young, or hadn't yet started paying attention to the NFL yet when he was playing.
Back in the DT era when I became a fan, for the longest time I wouldn't have been able to tell you who Otis Taylor was. I didn't care. Yet some old dude might have seen me wearing a Christian Okoye jersey and quizzed me about it and decided I wasn't a real fan.
