You take that chance because you (GM) were the fool that let a real left tackle walk out of the building because you were too cheap to negotiate enough guaranteed money. So now you've got to make a trade off... Left Tackles have an 18% bust rate. If you're such a legendary talent evaluator as you claim to be than you should be able to identify a starting left tackle in the draft and he should be able to start day one. Joe Alt, JC Latham, Brandon Coleman and Olu Fashanu all had better years as rookie left tackles than any of the sad sacks that rotated through that position for the Chiefs. If I had no other choice I'd trade McDuffie. Nothings off the table now.
