Always said especially as year one went on, FAU’s best case scenario is turning into a Rashan Gary — pass rusher who played sparingly his first two years and became starter year 3 and is very good now.
Now, he’s got a TON to prove and it’s unlikely he’s ever as good as Gary. But are we seeing the plan play out in real time here as far as why Omenihu hasn’t returned despite a very slow market?
If they’re telling Charles that they’re ready to make FAU a starter or at least 50%+ snaps player, it all the sudden becomes a much less desirable situation for Omenihu to return to on one year deal.
IF Felix is ready to be a legit starter, it’s 1000% the right play. But it just might be a huge gamble that doesn’t pan out.
Or it could all turn out to be speculative bullshit on my part, Omenihu returns, and FAU is destined to never start games for us.
