It could also be, like the pyramids of the Americas, that they were religious temples. Maybe these pyramids helped foster some advanced technology for the time that we don't even have now and we're simply missing the boat by not questioning. Doubtful? Probably, and maybe likely just a conspiracy theory. I feel it's definitely within reason to question what they were for. We don't have all of the answers about the pyramids and we may never have them. Building something that large, with the level of precision and layout with which they were built, seems very, very odd if only to be a burial chamber. Quite the lavish chamber. Not only that, you are using your slave force on something like that rather than for the betterment of you or your people. Hmm.
