Both things can be true.
Mahomes was not at his best last year. Far from it. There are QBs in the league that did more with less than he did last season. If what he did last season is what he's capable of -- even considering the shortcomings around him -- we wouldn't consider him in the pantheon of all time greats.
It was not a representative season for him, IMO.

Poor take. Mahomes wasn’t great because his offensive line was pitiful on the left side. He was running for his life most of the time. Also the RB room was just as pitiful. I hope Veach corrects these obvious problems in the draft.
