It completely circumvents the idea of innocent until proven guilty. I am unsure if Canada has similar laws, but it wouldn't surprise me if they do. I would recommend having a plan in place for what you'll do with that money. Maybe bring your bank receipts and your poker tourney invite or something.

If you haven't seen how many random people have been completely ****ed over by this when they are on their way to buy a car or whatever, you should google it.
So true story. In 2018 I was flying home from Dallas and I had around $82,000 with me. I've had 20k to 30k before and never had an issue on domestic flights. This time they gave me so much shit. I was open and honest with where I got it from and what I do for a living. Treated me like a criminal. I even showed them I played a streamed on the internet poker cash game where I had won a great deal. They did not care in the slightest.

I was freaking out because not only did I almost miss my flight but they TOOK the entire wads of cash out of my possession, out of my view, and into a office that I could not see in. I waited 15 to 20 minutes for them to apparently look me up and make sure I wasn't a terrorist or drug dealer.

I did get it all back but some people have no been as lucky. Now if I ever fly with alot of cash I just mix it up in 4 or 5 different items. No issues.
