Erceg pitched the seventh and eighth innings. He got their best two hitters out in Pena and Altuve in the eighth. Erceg came in when he was needed in the fireman role in seventh inning when Bubic was starting to show weaknesses. Considering warm up time getting hot that counts as pitching counts just as much. Throwing him out for the ninth would be silly. He wouldn't be available today for one. Chasing wins in May is what screws bullpen. The ninth was going to be Charlie Sheens if we took the lead or go to the extra innings strategy. Schreiber is a ground ball pitcher and Enron being a bandbox was a good choice. He made one bad pitch and got Crawford boxed.
