She was already questioning whether or not if he was lying about the firefly's and then he lies straight to her face as he swore he wasn't going to kill Eugene. The way he lied was just like how he told her bandits killed the firefly's. It pissed her off how he could just lie to her so easily.

There isn't anything wrong, cringe, or unlikable with her reaction. Just people stretching for reasons to not like her because they don't find her attractive. She's been great.
