Also, I found out that I carry a type of mutated gene that heightens my risk of getting certain cancers (which I got) and slightly elevates recurrence or development elsewhere. I get to have my boobs smashed every six months indefinitely instead of being able to go back to annually. I may also have to have a colonoscopy done every five years instead of every seven to ten years. I'd rather have weekly mammograms than go through that shit again (literally).
