And don't give me the "only criminals dislike cops" bullsh*t either. I haven't had any trouble in the law since I was a dumb kid, and I've only received 3 moving violations in the last 8 years or so.
It's funny. Maybe your whole "the world would fail without us" attitude is part of the problem. Don't act like I owe you something. You get paid by my tax dollars. You're here to serve and protect, not hold it over my head that you can take that protection away.

You don't owe me jack. Even if you don't respect the majority of police officers I would still come to your aid if you needed it. Yes there are some in the field that have a big chip on their shoulders, but not the majority of them. Yes there are some that run on a power trip, but not all. You will find people like this in almost any profession. I only bring up the argument that if police went on a vaction for a while the community would be hurt argument to those that want to disrespect police and the job they do. Most do respect police and I have come to deal with those that do not. It is your choice. I'm not working in the field to change your mind or those that agree with you, I'm just doing what your paying me to do.
