Like Zach says, the game is continuous and filled with anticipation. One goal scored in soccer twice as rewarding as a TD or maybe 50 times more exciting than each cheapened point scored in Basketball. A true soccer fan watches every moment with anticipation and interest.

If they scored more goals in soccer, I'll bet some of these third-world countries would be less screwed up. It has to cause a lot of frustration to watch your team for an entire year and only see them score four times, three of which occurred while you went off to the bathroom.
