Tarantino is doing WHAT?

TARANTINO WATCH: YOU HAVE TO BE KIDDING ME

By now fans of Quentin Tarantino are used to the writer/director's habit of attaching himself to projects that never seem to go anywhere. The number of possible future Tarantino projects is, at any one moment, staggering.

The last time we brought you Tarantino Watch (tm), we reported that the director was doing an episode of the the police show CSI. And lo, that has come to pass - he'll be shooting one for the end of the season. Now the latest news is so weird, so wacky, so wild, I can almost believe it.

IGN Filmforce is reporting the Tarantino is in talks to direct the next Friday the 13th film. It'll be called The Ultimate Jason Voorhees Movie and it will be a quickie co-production between New Line and Paramount. The film won't be a sequel to the lackluster Freddy vs Jason, and I have to assume that it's going to be ignoring the events of Jason X.

IGN attempted to get to the bottom of the issue by calling Band Apart, QT's company. They got a slight runaround, but not really enough to make me completely believe that this is really happening. Who knows, though? I can imagine Quentin digging something like this, and it would certainly keep him from having to get to work on another, more serious and real film.
