I'd say that today the most likely reason for him to not win may be crowd interference. His dominance is driving the Euro-weenies nuts. Didn't some Germans last year whack his bike with an umbrella?

My understanding is what makes Lance so great is that he is a "jammer" which means he always rides with a very high cadence. Maintaining a high cadence is supposed to be key in the mountains. The guy is awesome, my pick for the best athlete ever, period. Let's keep in mind that on a bike you also have to be a skilled rider too, which makes him all that much more amazing. Today's wipeout by a top contender shows just how on the edge those guys are.
