To not mention Walls, who would have started over Herndon last season if he hadn't got hurt, is just pitiful. Middlebrooks is missing from that discussion too. It's not all rookies like Gretz implies.
The "Shanahan is desperate" schtick has almost become cliche this offseason. Desperate coaches do not trade out of the 1st for future picks, they're going to try for all the help they can get.

He may not be desperate, a point I do agree with, but his offseason moves does make one say "HUH?".
