My concern is definitely the play calling. We've lost 2 games. One was a total suck-fest in every phase. The second one, aside from the turnovers, you can pretty much attribute directly to the awful play calling, like that ESPN article showed a few weeks ago. Not only did we get away from what had been working to that point, but we stalled our offense and kept our defense on the field way too long.
I'm not concerned about the offense. When they go out there, line up, and can't run the ball on anyone, I'll start getting concerned. But when we come on the field to start a drive and I see an empty backfield and some stupid little pass play that gets us nothing, I don't think "man, our offense is struggling", I think "man, I wish AS would get his head out of his ass".
Even the Z-level CBS broadcast team for the Miami game was questioning the play calling last week. If we go out tomorrow and try to be cute, it'll lose us the game barring some total meltdown by the Chargers. There's nothing wrong with passing, and we'll probably do a lot of it with San Diego's pass D as weak as it is. But set it up with the run. No more of this "let's start this drive by passing, they won't expect it" crap for 3-4 straight drives.
I think we can win, but I don't want to see it blown by poor coaching moves again.
