I'm not saying it's not true, I'd just like to see an official announcement somewhere.

Chiefs running back Priest Holmes is not retiring, but he won't play football again this season.
Sources have told FOXSports.com hat the team will place Holmes on injured reserve later Wednesday, ending his season as a result of a bruise in his spinal canal. The team signed former Panthers running back Dee Brown to help fill the void and also worked out former Broncos running back Quentin Griffin. Denver also has practice squad running back McKenzi Smith to possibly promote. There was a report that Holmes would retire as early as Wednesday, but team officials insist that notion is false. Instead, team doctors will re-evaluate Holmes in 30 days and take a plan of attack after that.
