Jamie, I saw him as bereft of the passion necessary to put fear into the hearts of the bastards who purpetrated this horrid crime. He looked like a politican reading a speech someone wrote for him instead of the leader of the greatest nation on Earth raining fire and brimstone down on our enemies.
This isn't a Slick vs. Duhbya issue, this is an issue of what I wanted to see from my president, and he didn't quite deliver what I hoped for...
Just so this isn't mistaken as a partisan thing (I'm an independent anyway...) I will say that I liked that he addressed the way the country has responded to the tragedy and I like the fact that he addressed countries who may harbor the responsible individuals. He said the right things, I just wanted a speech we'd remember 50 years from now and a rallying cry all America could come together around.
Probably expected too much, in all fairness. ;)
