I know what they are, and know I am required to get one for my class, so that thread really doesn't help me at all. Not to mention, if any good deals were mentioned in that thread, I'm quite sure they aren't still good at this time.
By the way, I bought one yesterday at Staples. 512mb for 34 dollars, plus an online rebate for 10 dollars, so all in all it was 24 bucks.
Thanks for your help GAZ, nearest Circuit City was too far away for me to check out on my lunch break, so I ended up at Staples.
