I had a Vibe. It was absolutely not a piece of shit (basically a Toyota Matrix with a Pontiac grill). It was a nice car, with decent acceleration, excellent storage capacity and got good gas mileage. And unless you've actually owned one, perhaps you should

I can't recommend it for people with kids, as you either get (a) storage capacity or (b) a back seat, but not both. But for one person or a couple, it would be an excellent choice.
The only reason I don't still have it is because my common sense got ground under the wheels of the 2005 Mustang when my mid-life crisis hit.
