Waiting for the Son is a narrative feature film created by the husband and wife
producer/ director team of Peter Jasso and Marlo Angell. Although the screenplay
has its roots in science fiction, it is at heart an intimate character study.
Influenced by films such as John Frankenheimer's Seconds and Darren
Aronovsky's Pi, Waiting for the Son is an emotional story of one woman's struggle
to find a place in a world that does not claim her.
The film was shot on 24p digital video with the primary locations in the state of
Kansas. The project has received tremendous support from the local community,
as both individuals and organizations have devoted generous time and resources
to getting the film made. The cast features an up and coming lead actress, Hedia
Anvar, as well as a seasoned veteran, Lupe Ontiveros, who was recently
nominated for an Emmy for her role in Desparate Housewives. Waiting for the
Son is intended for theatrical release after a successful run in the festival circuit.
