If I had my antenna mounted outside, I likely wouldn't ever have any signal loss. Also, you may be in an area where the terrestrial (ground) signal is weak and you have an obstructed path to the sky. My terrestrial signal is much stronger than the satellite.

I live in springfield--it's funny, other people who I know who have xm say they never have ANY issues with their xm--which is beyond annoying
