I think there were a number of reasons for low turnout.
Midweek afternoon and Christmas week
Fear that it was going to be full
Chiefs blowing games
but if people did not believe he was a part of this community they would have changed their mind after the presentations and stories that were given. I didn't know half of what Lamar has done in this community and the stories from his hospital bed about his favorite place on earth, which by the way was Arrowhead.
He just didn't blow his own horn which may have given the fans the idea that he didn't care.
I walked away with a much greater appreciation for Lamar Hunt then I ever had before. One of his last words from the hospital was GO CHIEFS!! He really did care about the fans and I for one will hold his memory and my chance to have net him as one of the highpoints in my life.

Though talking to some of my friends that live in KC they all feel Lamar never was from here and he was only here on Sundays and never really got involved with the community. I hear that alot from people.
When DT died there was thousands of people who showed up and I think a large part of that was DT was very involved in the community and he was out and about alot.
