I haven't read through the entire thread of comments so if this has been said before I apologize.
The prosecution of this "crime" is so ridiculous that there has to be something that doesn't meet the eye. Without knowing much about this, I can't help but think the kid (male) was black and that he got his hummer from a white youth with an embarassed influential white mom and dad.
My gut reaction says racism.
