Snape gets redeemed, in limited fashion at least, and may buy it.
If Snape doesn't buy it, then I'm thinking at least one of the professors does, either McGongall (sp?) or Hagrid (more likely McGonagall).
My firmest, rock-surest prediction is that at the end of hte year, Harry becomes the new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor at Hogwarts. (I'm very proud of that prediction as I came up with it on my own, and I'm 100% sure of it).
