The following is the portion of the 01/11/2007 press conference which directly relates to Herm's comments regarding Trent Green's status as a starter:
"Q: Herm, back on December 25th you were asked if Trent Green was your starter going into next season and you said 'yeah why wouldn't he be?'. Have you changed your mind on that?
Herm: No I have not.
Q: So he's your starter going into '07?
Herm: Yeah, all the starters are the starters right now.
Q: Could that change?
Herm: Oh yeah, alot of things could change. But right now as we start the '07 season he's the starter. There will be competition and that's the whole key. It doesn't matter if a guy's the starter on paper or not. What you want to do on your football team - and we did a pretty good job of it this year - you create competition at the positions. That's what we have to do through the whole roster."
