part of the reason why the Chiefs struggle imo is because Carl puts too much on the coaches.
Just like the article mentions .... coaches have too many "other things" that can influence their perspective on a given player.
Coaches should have input on the player interviews and what type of player is needed for their system. The scouts and personal dept should take over after that.
But imo ... Carl is too afraid to take that responsibility on himself and his scouts so he puts in on the coaches. That way when stuff goes wrong publicly the coaches take the heat ...... then in a couple of years that coach gets fired and Peterson is still safe.
it's why are drafts are weak imo
