I am not an attorney but I am 99% sure you are still responsible for any lease you signed, even if you decide to move out (for whatever reason). My advice to you is to pay the rent and see if you can't negotiate something with the landlord.
Oh, and whatever you do, stay the heck away from your ex. Even if you pay another six months rent on a place you no longer live in you are miles ahead of any divorce settlement you would have had in the future.
