Herm is looking ahead, something Carl has never done. No matter what, Herm will end his coaching career here in KC based on game day issues, not talent and players developed.
To be completely fair, isn't that exactly what a Head Coaches job is?

The responsibility for the long term health of the franchise is the Owners and GM's.

A head coaches job is on the line every season.
