Perhaps if they would have won more than 1 World Series, but in the big picture, St. Louis of course showed a strong dislike for getting screwed in game 6 and New York I'm sure had some haters of the Royals, but aside from that I don't think they were looked at in negative terms by a majority of the country. I'm sure the communications boom has the most influence on why it has become more pronounced now.

We weren't hated after 1 or even 2 SBs. Try 3 and then some additional AFCC games and going undefeated and then you start to really get the hate heating up...
