The question is: Who won more Super Bowls -- The NFC or the AFC?

It's cyclical. Follow the QBs. As of the 2007 season:

NFC 19 AFC 18

Four Super Bowls were played before the AFL-NFL merger in 1970. Of those four, the NFL won 2 and the AFL won 2.
