Every model has it’s ups and downs. Didn’t Ford quit making the Mustang for a little while in the late ‘70’s early ‘80’s? Seems like the Mustang II almost killed that model.
Hell, even Jeep took a hiatus from the Wrangler YJ until they came out with the Wrangler TJ a couple years later.

True, but what if the LS-6 is boosted, or sprayed? Right now GM offers a factory NO2 “dry” system that adds a warranty friendly 125 horses at the touch of a button.
Motorcycle Drag Racing Buddy has a GTO with the 6.0L LS-2 engine so equipped and he’s already run on Z06 Corvettes.
