I'm sure the Jags would like one of top 3 DEs to fall to them but it's more than likely not going to happen. Their DEs are either old, FAs or coming off of injuries. I would have thought to go with a WR at this pick but after the signing of Porter and the trade for Williamson, the Jags really don't need to reach for a WR in the 1st round. So instead they'll reach for a DE.
With the 26th pick in the 2008 NFL Draft...the Jacksonville Jaguars select Lawrence Jackson DE USC.
The Jags have a choice of three DEs at this point. It came down to Lawrence Jackson, Quentin Groves and Calais Campbell. Groves is really suited for a 3-4 OLB so he wouldn't fit into the Jags plans. Campbell has a little bit more upside but I feel that Jackson is the more all-around DE that the Jags could use. Plus it doesn't hurt that Coach Del Rio is from USC.
