Agreed about the guts/personality part. I don't think Roy's a a-hole necessarily. I think the awe-shucks is a rhetorical construction--the naive country boy is a hard image for the media to paint as a villian. The problem is that I bought all the "youngster" crap, and Roy exposed himself with the manner of his departure. Awe-shucks doesn't = .800 winning percentage. On another level, he's as cold blooded as they come.
Now when I hear him talk, I immediately call bs on just about everything. Many UNC fans on the other hand, think he's sincere, honest Roy.
