The Packers select Jack Ikegwuonu, CB, Wisconsin.
I hate to do this because I would rather wait until the 6th round to take this kid...but the Packers don't have a 6th round pick in this draft. The Packers are a really young team across the board...except for their CB position. They drafted Reggie Smith with their 1st round pick but I still think that they could use another CB. Al Harris and Charles Woodson aren't getting any younger but they still have a couple of good years left so this makes a little bit of sense. Ikegwuonu will probably need all of 2008 to recover and rehab. The Packers really don't need him to step in immediately so this is a perfect fit. Ikegwuonu can learn from Harris and Woodson and then come in in 2009 and play nickle if need be.
