I remember a lot of my dreams and I can never remember ever seeing myself from a 3rd person pov. But then again I have been told for as long as I can remember that things like that are not possible.
If it happens to a child it happens imho because they do not know you are not supposed to be able to do that, so say the experts. That being said when it does happen to a child that memory is forever embedded in their brain and can very easily be tapped during sleep periods.
It's very likeable to saying "I dreamed that would happen a few days ago..."
If you tired to dream about the future you would never get it right. But if you are just relaxed and not trying, just sleeping as normal then you allow your brain to take over without your conscious thoughts interefering.
