Not true, especially with 3rd baseman...most power hitters come up as 3rd baseman or 1st baseman...

You are speaking circa 1950...

This is a new day and age...most every good power hitter/athlete that is drafted, if you pay attention to the draft, is a 3rd baseman or SS...or catcher...and then they get converted to other positions in the minors.

So when Ryan Braun gets the call up, poor ol' 3rd baseman before him either moves to 2nd, to 1st, to the OF or to a new team...and then poor ol' Ryan Braun, who can hit anything, sucks in the field so he moves to the OF and makes way for the next big thing coming up from AA.
