Album sales does not equate to "good". Britney Spears and The Backstreet Boys sold a shitload of albums as well.
Metallica used to be a thrash metal band. They morphed into a top forty boom-tap band. Good for their pocketbooks, but bad for their metal image. They're not metal, they're top forty poseurs. Some mulletards may think they're metal, but mulletards think AC/DC is metal too.
It's funny you bring up BAD RELIGION, they did the same thing Metallica did, signing with Warner Bros, then corrected their mistake and went back to Epitaph. Their latest
New Maps of Hell ranks with their older works IMO.
