Or because the man is 32 years old, has taken a beating for the past 12 years, and would like to enjoy his life with his wife and kid while he can still walk without a limp?
I mean, some of you guys have no idea how much a toll these guy's bodies take.
Have any of you guys ever spent any significant amount of time with a pro football player? It's not pretty.
Never got a chance to talk to him, but I saw Marshall Faulk struggle to get up a flight of stairs this spring - 2 years after he retired.
Kurt Warner told me several stories about guys still struggling to get out of bed on Fridays after the previous week's games.
I've seen Dan Dierdorf at Annie Gunn's here in STL countless times, and the man can barely walk.
Maybe, just maybe, he'd like to get on with the rest of his life while he's still in decent enough shape to enjoy it?
