The main vampires in the movie certainly demonstrate something parallel to abstinence, but the most important character, the human girl, seems more than ready to go. Not only is she ready to give up her virginity (assuming she's a virgin to begin with), but by the end of the movie she's begging to give up her humanity. Given that this movie probably appeals more to girls than to guys, it's not really what I would have considered much of an abstinence message and it certainly isn't heavy handed if it is.

I was hoping to hear from Reaper or someone else concerned with the supposed "abstinence" message (or the Mormon influence) in this movie to explain to me how I'm wrong. Maybe they aren't reading the spoiler so it won't ruin the movie for them.
