Had he had the resources to make a strong offer 2 weeks ago, when the Braves were chasing Peavy, it would have been closed by now. Instead he had to clear payroll and/or go panhandling with Glass and his window shut on him.

WTF are you talking about. You've been on this rant against Moore for awhile now and it's really just comical at this point.
The Royals have improved each year he's been here, have had fantastic drafts, and are actually spending money now. Stop complaining and look at the progress this team has made.
We have no reason to believe that Moore didn't offer a huge deal for Furcal - he did it with Meche, he did it with Torii Hunter, and I'm sure he did here in this scenario too. He's not Baird; he doesn't have a rep for low-balling.
The problem wasn't money or years; the problem was Furcal wanted to play in LA or Atlanta. Tha has been reported the past few weeks by numerous reporters. You can't kidnap the dude's wife to make him sign here.
