I know of another incudent with Toshiba that is similar. I have a friend who has a computer shop, but he also works on TV's. He warned me against Toshiba as well. He has had dimilr issues with them. In particular, he has tried to fix Toshiba TV's in the past. But the parts are not done like most TV's. They won't sell an individual component that costs less. They will only sell one unit that contains multiple parts, for a ridiculous price that makes fixing the TV too expensive. He says he has ran into that issue over and over.
