I just got this brand new powerbook the other day.. friday to be exact. I got the 1.25 which i downgraded to a combodrive. .. it's amazing, i love it. But today I put a dvd in it and watched half of it. I was halfway through when I turned off the dvd and went to eject it. well, it didn't eject. it just sat there making a clicking sound trying to come out!!!

What the hell, this thing is brand new that shouldn't happen. so I talk to apple support and they tell me to try a number of things but to no avail the dvd still sits in there. I kept on restarting it and then finally a little bit of it was peaking through the slot so I grabbed tweezers and carefully removed it. so, yeah now the dvd is out. But now my computer doesn't recognize any cd-rom drive?? no dvd, nothing!

The drive seems like it's totally 100% FRIED. I'm a busy college student and have no time for this, now I have to return it to an authorized apple dealer and probably wait another 2 weeks for the stupid combo drive to be replaced.. has anyone here had anything like this happen to them?? I feel like im being teased by getting to play with this beautiful machine for 2 days then have to let it go for a while.
