Now Pioli has made his decision, and now he has an opening for HC. If Haley really is a candidate you're still not going to see Pioli talking to him until after the SB --the longer we wait now, the likelihood that Haley is it increases. But if someone spots Shanahan in talks with KC now that Herm is gone, look out! I don't care what Schefter says, these guys do play it close to the vest, and no one necessarily knows what the other is doing. Media wants to scoop the story. These coaches and execs want to control it.
I still think Shanahan would take less money from the Chiefs to just run the sidelines in the right situation (read: Pioli-led operation) and cause some mayhem in the AFC West.
