My parents [mother, really] instilled the economist thing in me from early on.
It's an interesting phenomenon, where the value of a purchase isn't entirely it's quality or utility, but the bargain you got.
Normal people: "I had a burger and fries at xxx, it was really tasty"
"Awesome!!"
BL's clan: "I had a burger and fries at xxx, they were half price on Tuesdays, so it was a real good deal."
"Awesome!!"
