I'm sorry, but this class is no weaker in the Top 10 than in any other year - the difference is that it LOOKS weaker to us because of those Top 10, our spot at 3 only holds value for a handful of those guys.

At #3, there are only a few positions that are worth that pick:

QB, which we desperately need.

LT, which we don't need at all.

DE, which we desperately need, but none are worth a Top 10 pick, much less Top 3.


You don't take a guy you're moving to RT that early. That wipes out 3 of the Top 10.

You don't take a LB that early unless he projects to be Singletary/Lewis in the middle, or Derrick Thomas/Lawrence Taylor rushing the passer.

As much as I like Maualuga, he's not that guy in the middle, and Curry is far from that kind of player on the outside.

That leaves Jenkins, Crabtree and the QB's.

You'd have to have rocks in your head the size of Gibraltar to pass on a potential franchise QB for another CB, or a WR that is so slow he's avoiding running at the combine.
