He WAS selected 6th overall, so regardless of the forum members opinions, the one that counted felt he was worthy of a Top Ten selection. The only reason that Ray was brought up was the assertion that LB's are worthless and LB's who dont rush the passer were less than that. Lewis and Brooks are just examples of being very important to a team without being sack artist.
Gholston because of his potential was a top 10 pick no doubt. I didnt like him, but he still has talent. I dont think a guy with motivation problems is a top 5 pick (some even said #1 overall). All the guys I argued were better picks should they drop to the Chiefs have thusfar turned out to be better choices. Again, I hope he does well but he's not done it yet. Like you said Ryan could defianatly light a fire!
Yes, SD rebounded nicely by years end (after all it is a team sport) but imagine that D if Merriman were there all season. Its a different D.
