I play the guitar and it's not representative at all of playing in real life. However, the drums, with the kit I have has proven to be pretty useful in some basic tutorial. It is quite a rush (pun intended) though when you start getting into some of the more advanced songs. Which I'm not very far into yet. I can play expert on the first half pretty much.
