Yeah. At that point Tedford wasn't the red flag, since the only track record had been Akili and at that point, hey, maybe that's the outlier! And then Harrington goes to Detroit, Tedford goes to Cal and produces countless guys who make no NFL impact. And really, you and others have hit upon a key point: Rodgers, and
most college QBs who have any hope of being successful NFL QBs, need time to grow into the role.
The only concern I have with Sanchez or Stafford is that I'm worried about the staff throwing one of them to the wolves. I would rather have our guy slowly work his way into being an NFL QB and see Thiggy or John Q. Stopgap lead the team to a 5-11 season than try to toss our stud rookie out there in week one when he isn't ready. Starting as a rookie doesn't automatically lead to disaster, but it greatly increases the chances.
